The u13 footballer’s entertained Fermoy in the latest round of the league last Tuesday evening on home soil. On a perfect evening for football, Glenville were slow to settle. But when we got going we had excellent passages of play. Scores began to flow from Kyle Guichard, James O'Leary Colin O'Keeffe and Ger Heffernan. Fermoy were always dangerous, and our backs had to be at their best to keep their forwards at bay. Mark O'Donoghue, Cathal Fitzgerald and Conor Gowen were reading the game very well in front of our goalie Liam Flynn McCarthy who did very well and is a very assured goalkeeper. As the half wore on we started to dominate. Cormac Linehan, Keelan O'Sullivan, Sean Og Barrett, Gary Doyle, Dara O Sullivan, Gerard Heffernan and Steven o Toole were winning some great ball and supplying our forwards. The score board was kept ticking over with some excellent scores coming from Dara, James, Colin and another from Ger coming up to half time. The only concern was we couldn't get the goals as the Fermoy keeper made four super saves. As a result we lost a small bit of momentum and allowed Fermoy in for two goals before the half time whistle. Half time 0.09 to 2.02.
The Second half started with Glenville coming to the fore. Davin O'Sullivan was really excelling in his best position at wing back. We kept the pressure on with good scores and finally the constant pressure paid off when Colin O'Keeffe tucked away a beautiful goal on 45 minutes. Shortly after, the dynamic James O'Leary got through for our second goal. Points followed from James, Ger, Colin, Keelan and a beauty from Liam O'Keeffe. Our third goal came from a free from James. Andrew chandler, Liam o keeffe, Ben Whelan, and Sean Murphy made their presence felt when introduced to the side and are really looking for a starting place in this team. All in all a Great performance by the 19 Glenville players who played on the night.
Final score.
